Snoop Dogg Expresses ‘Nothing But Love’ for Ex-President Donald Trump Following Past Feud

Following their widely known feud, Snoop Dogg is reaching out to former President Donald Trump in a recent shift of tone. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the rapper, who had previously voiced strong disapproval of Trump’s presidency, expressed a change in perspective, stating, “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.”

Michael Harris, alongside Suge Knight and Dr. Dre, co-founded Death Row Records in the early ’90s, the record label that signed Snoop Dogg for the release of his debut album “Doggystyle” in 1993. In 2021, Trump commuted Harris’ prison sentence, along with 69 others, after he had served 30 years of a 25-year-to-life sentence for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

“I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” Snoop Dogg emphasized.

This positive acknowledgment of Trump marks a notable departure from Snoop Dogg’s past criticisms of the former president. In a 2017 music video for the song “Lavender (Nightfall Remix),” Snoop Dogg took a direct jab at Trump by pointing a gun at a clown dressed like the then commander-in-chief. In an interview with Billboard at the time, the rapper outlined various issues he had with Trump, including the attempted travel ban, his election victory, police misconduct, and long-term imprisonment for marijuana-related offenses.

Shortly after the release of the music video, Trump responded to Snoop Dogg’s diss on social media, raising hypothetical concerns about the reaction if the rapper had targeted then-President Obama. Snoop Dogg continued his criticism in June 2020 during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3, expressing his intention to vote for the first time in the 2020 U.S. presidential election and his strong opposition to Trump’s continued tenure in office.

However, despite Trump’s aspirations for a potential presidential run in 2024, Snoop Dogg remained non-committal when asked by The Sunday Times about endorsing a specific candidate, stating, “I may have to because there are mixed views on that, so I want to see what the people say.”

This apparent change in Snoop Dogg’s stance towards Trump has sparked conversations about the dynamic nature of celebrity-politician relationships and the evolving perspectives that can emerge over time. As political landscapes continue to shift, public figures like Snoop Dogg may find themselves reevaluating their positions and expressing sentiments that diverge from their previous outspoken criticisms. The rapper’s recent acknowledgment of Trump’s positive actions adds a new layer to their history, leaving room for speculation on potential future interactions or collaborations.
