A mother from Colorado Springs, accused of killing two of her children, has been arrested in the United Kingdom.

A Colorado mother, Kimberlee Singler, who was sought by police in connection with the tragic killings of two of her three children, has been arrested in the United Kingdom, according to a statement from the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The incident unfolded when, on December 19, the police responded to a reported burglary at Singler’s residence. Upon arrival, they discovered Singler and her 11-year-old daughter injured, while her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son were found dead. Later investigations revealed that the initial burglary report was unfounded.

Singler initially cooperated with the police, and at that time, she was considered both a witness and a victim. Consequently, she was allowed to leave the hospital, given the lack of sufficient probable cause linking her to her children’s deaths. However, during the ongoing investigation, Singler disappeared, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant on Tuesday. The warrant charged her with multiple counts of first-degree murder, along with charges of child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, and assault.

Details surrounding how the children were killed or the nature of Singler’s and her surviving daughter’s injuries were not disclosed by the police.

The tragedy began when authorities responded to what was believed to be a burglary at Singler’s residence. Instead, they found a grim scene — Singler and her 11-year-old daughter injured, and her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son tragically deceased. The initial burglary report turned out to be false, leading investigators down a path of uncovering a far more distressing situation.

Singler, who had initially been treated as a witness and victim, was allowed to leave the hospital during the early stages of the investigation due to insufficient evidence connecting her to the deaths. However, as the probe progressed, Singler went missing, raising suspicions and prompting law enforcement to issue a warrant for her arrest.

The charges brought against Singler are severe, encompassing multiple counts of first-degree murder, underlining the gravity of the alleged crimes. In addition to the murder charges, Singler faces accusations of child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, and assault.

The circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and Singler’s subsequent arrest are shrouded in mystery, as the police have not disclosed specific details about how the children were killed or the extent of the injuries sustained by Singler and her surviving daughter. The investigation is ongoing, and further information is expected to emerge as the legal proceedings unfold.
