After four years of marriage, “The Bachelorette” star Rachel Lindsay and her husband Bryan Abasolo have decided to part ways, with Abasolo filing for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The divorce filing took place at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, and the court documents reveal that the former couple has been separated since Sunday. Abasolo, a chiropractor, posted a statement on his Instagram page confirming the decision, expressing the difficulty of the choice and emphasizing the importance of loving oneself and one’s partner, even if it means letting go.

While Abasolo has openly addressed the decision, Lindsay has not directly commented on the matter on her social media. However, in a New Year’s Eve Instagram post, she referred to 2023 as “one of the hardest years of my life.”

In the divorce petition, Abasolo is seeking spousal support from Lindsay, but the filing does not specify the amount. He also requests the termination of the court’s ability to award spousal support to Lindsay. Additionally, Abasolo is seeking ownership rights for shared properties, including a residence in North Hollywood.

The couple, known for their appearances on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” did not have any children during their marriage, and the court documents do not mention a prenuptial agreement regarding the division of assets.

Rachel Lindsay made history as the first-ever Black lead on any iteration of “The Bachelor” franchise during her stint as the “Bachelorette” in 2017. An attorney and author, Lindsay has since become a prominent figure in the entertainment news industry, hosting the popular “Higher Learning” podcast. She recently departed from her correspondent position at the entertainment news show “Extra.”

Reflecting on her experience as the “Bachelorette” in 2021 on the “Higher Learning” podcast, Lindsay spoke about her desire to be a representative figure as a Black woman and pave the way for more diverse opportunities within the franchise. She chose Bryan Abasolo as the recipient of her final rose on the show, eventually leading to their marriage in August 2019.

As the news of their divorce becomes public, fans and followers await further statements or comments from Rachel Lindsay, offering insight into her perspective on this significant life change.
