Mom in pennyslavia for allegedly charged

A Pennsylvania mother has been apprehended for allegedly abandoning her child while moving to New Jersey, as reported by the Manheim Township Police Department.

The woman is facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

The police were prompted to conduct a welfare check on January 12, and during the inspection, they discovered the child living alone.

According to police reports, the child was left in a house devoid of heat except for a space heater in their room. The residence lacked running water, and the gas supply had been disconnected. Additionally, the house was cluttered and contained spoiled and rotten food.

However, when the child was questioned about their daily meals, they confirmed having access to food. The police also stated that the woman occasionally sent money to the child through the mobile payment service application, CashApp.

A relative informed the police that they took the child to the grocery store and brought them to their home to shower and wash clothes.

According to police, the child revealed that their mother moved to New Jersey a month ago to live with her boyfriend and left them behind.

Although the mother returned on occasion, the child was unsure about the schedule.

The police learned from the child that they sometimes attended school, but waking up in the morning was challenging since they were alone.

In addition to the child, a cat and two dogs were also left in the home, and the child was responsible for taking care of them.

The woman was located and apprehended by the Pennsville Township Police Department in New Jersey on Saturday, January 27. She is currently in custody at the Salem County Correctional Facility.

Arrangements are being made for her extradition, but as of now, the woman has not been arraigned.

This incident highlights the severe consequences of parental neglect and the potential harm it can cause to a child’s well-being. Authorities are taking action to hold the mother accountable for her actions, and the legal process will unfold as arrangements are made for her extradition and subsequent court proceedings.

It is a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and welfare of children, and the legal system plays a crucial role in addressing cases of child neglect or endangerment. The child’s well-being is of utmost priority, and appropriate measures will be taken to provide support and protection for the child’s future.
