The 33-year-old Grammy-winning reggaeton artist expressed her gratitude for the concern shown by her supporters through an Instagram Story post on Friday. While she did not delve into specifics about the incident, she conveyed in a message written in Spanish that she, along with her family and team, are “doing very well.”
Footage captured by a local news station chopper for KABC on Thursday night depicted a woman, presumed to be the Colombian superstar, disembarking from the aircraft with others at Van Nuys Airport. The plane displayed a thorn heart logo, a symbol also tattooed on Karol G’s arm.
Karol G is currently engaged in performing shows as part of the Latin American leg of her Mañana Será Bonito Tour. When contacted for comment regarding the incident involving Karol G, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) referred to a statement issued by the agency on Thursday. The statement mentioned that a twin-engine Gulfstream IV successfully landed at Van Nuys Airport in California around 9 p.m. local time after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit. The flight had departed from Hollywood Burbank Airport and was en route to El Salvador International Airport. The FAA will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
Representatives for Karol G have been approached by USA TODAY for further comment. The “TQG” singer has already completed seven dates of her 2024 Mañana Será Bonito Tour and is scheduled to perform at the Guatemala City venue Explanada Cardales de Cayalá at 8 p.m. local time on Friday. Following another scheduled show on Saturday, Karol G is slated to entertain audiences in San Salvador, El Salvador, on March 5.
In the previous month, Karol G clinched a Grammy for her 2023 album “Mañana Será Bonito,” which won in the best música urbana album category. Additionally, she secured the top honors at the 2023 Latin Grammys in November, where she was acknowledged with awards for album of the year and best urban music album.
