Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled the first official details about its highly anticipated theme park, Universal Epic Universe. The park, set to open in 2025, will be the fourth in Universal Orlando Resort’s portfolio and is expected to be one of the most immersive theme parks globally. The plans for Epic Universe have been kept under wraps for years, heightening anticipation among fans.
Karen Irwin, President & Chief Operating Officer of Universal Orlando Resort, stated, “Universal Epic Universe marks a huge transformational moment for Universal Orlando Resort, and it will change everything about our destination.” She emphasized that the park would be the culmination of the resort’s growth over the past 30-plus years and will turn Universal Orlando into a weeklong vacation destination.

Five Worlds:
Universal Epic Universe will consist of five distinct worlds, each offering a unique set of attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences.
Celestial Park: Positioned at the center of Epic Universe, Celestial Park will welcome guests with relaxing gardens, a wet play area, a grand carousel, and the Starfall Racers, a dual-launch racing roller coaster with 5,000 feet of track and speeds reaching up to 62 miles per hour.
Dark Universe: Catering to fans of Universal’s popular Halloween Horror Nights, Dark Universe promises encounters with everything from Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s experiments to a shadowy landscape inhabited by monsters in a world of myth and mystery.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: This world provides fans of the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise with the opportunity to experience the sensation of soaring with dragons like Hiccup, Astrid, and other Dragon Riders from the films.
Super Nintendo World: Following its debut at Universal Studios Hollywood, Super Nintendo World brings the beloved video game franchise to life, allowing guests to embark on adventures with iconic characters like Mario and Princess Peach.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: An all-new land combining 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts” films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel:
A newly announced addition to Epic Universe is the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, located at the end of Celestial Park. The hotel will feature 500 rooms and its own park access. It joins the previously announced Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort, both set to open early next year.
Opening Date:
While Universal Orlando Resort has not disclosed the exact opening date for Epic Universe, it has confirmed that the park is scheduled to open in 2025.
Size:
Epic Universe will occupy a sprawling 750-acre site, making it the largest theme park in Universal Orlando Resort.
Existing Parks:
Universal Orlando’s current theme parks include Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and the Volcano Bay water park. Epic Universe will become the fourth park in the resort.
