Usher channeled Frank Sinatra for his electrifying Super Bowl halftime show, bringing the razzle-dazzle of Vegas to the field. In a 13-minute performance, he transformed Allegiant Stadium into his playground, joined by an A-list crew of collaborators: Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri, and Ludacris.
Dressed in Dolce & Gabbana, Usher commanded the stage, flanked by ramps and bathed in lights. Celebrities like Paul McCartney, Martha Stewart, and Justin Bieber watched in awe. He kicked off with “Caught Up,” then transitioned to a slow jam medley featuring “Love in This Club” and a duet with Keys on “My Boo.”
A medley of his hits followed, including “Confessions,” “Nice & Slow,” and “Burn,” with a Michael Jackson-inspired glove making a special appearance. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for: Usher stripped off his jacket, revealing his famous abs for “U Got it Bad,” complete with a scorching guitar solo from H.E.R.
But the highlight was undoubtedly his signature skating routine during “OMG,” which morphed into a party zone with Lil Jon joining in for “Yeah!” and “Turn Down for What.” Ludacris added even more fuel to the fire with his verse, backed by the electrifying “Sonic Boom of the South” marching band.
This halftime show was the culmination of a busy week for Usher. His new album, “Coming Home,” just dropped, and he announced his “Past, Present Future” tour kicking off in August.
