Alec Baldwin, renowned actor and Hollywood personality, takes center stage in a video promoting the sale of his Hamptons home, listed at nearly $19 million. The two-minute video, released by Baldwin’s real estate brokerage firm Saunders & Associates, offers viewers a nostalgic journey through Baldwin’s decades-long connection with the eastern end of Long Island.
“I’ve had a home out here on the east end of Long Island since 1981,” Baldwin reflects in the video. “When I was younger, we’d come out here, sleep all morning, and lay on the beach all day. When you’re young, this place is the best.”
Baldwin fondly recalls his first rented house in Amagansett, situated near East Hampton, where he resided for five years. He then purchased his initial residence “around the corner from Atlantic Avenue Beach.” In 1995, he acquired the expansive 10-acre property now up for sale.
The featured property is a 10,000-square-foot “modern farmhouse home,” reportedly dating back to 1740. Boasting five bedrooms, with plans for two additional ones, the residence encompasses nine bathrooms, a pool, barn, home theater, wine-tasting room, and a wood-paneled library. Described by real estate agent Scott Bradley as an “absolutely stunning hilltop estate surrounded by acres of reserve with wide open skies and soft ocean breezes,” the house offers a luxurious retreat.
Alec Baldwin expresses his deep affection for the property in the video, stating, “I fell in love with this place the moment I came here. You just can’t get this out here anymore. I love coming here. I’m always happiest when I come here.”
The Zillow listing for the home reveals it was purchased in March 1996 for $1.75 million. Initially placed on the market for $29 million in November 2022, the listing price has undergone several reductions. In January 2023, it dropped to $24.9 million, followed by another reduction to $22.5 million two months later. The property was temporarily taken off the market later that year.
While the video showcases the allure of Baldwin’s Hamptons home, the actor has been embroiled in controversy since 2021 following the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust.” Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer, faced involuntary manslaughter charges after a gun he was handling discharged during rehearsal, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Baldwin pleaded not guilty, and prosecutors dropped charges last year while maintaining an ongoing investigation. New Mexico-based prosecutors are now seeking to revive criminal charges against Baldwin, pending a grand jury decision.
As Baldwin opens the door to selling his Hamptons haven, the video offers a glimpse into his personal connection with the property, inviting potential buyers to share in the unique history and charm of this iconic residence.
