In a murder-suicide incident on Christmas Eve, law enforcement authorities have identified the man involved as the spouse of a former Arizona prosecutor.

In a tragic incident on Christmas Eve in Arizona, the Phoenix Police Department has identified David DeNitto, 47, as the perpetrator of a murder-suicide that claimed the lives of two women at a holiday gathering. The victims have been identified as Cynthia Domini, 83, and Maryalice Cash, 47, the latter being in a relationship with DeNitto.

The authorities were alerted to the incident around 11:30 p.m. local time when officers responded to a residence in northern Phoenix. Upon arrival, they discovered two women with gunshot wounds, who were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, both victims, Domini and Cash, were pronounced dead. DeNitto was found dead at the scene, having succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

David DeNitto was the husband of former Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel, who tragically passed away in April 2022. The couple owned a home on the same block where the Christmas Eve shooting occurred, according to property records.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, who succeeded Allister Adel, expressed the difficulty in comprehending such a tragedy, emphasizing the profound sorrow felt by the community. Mitchell called for prayers for the affected families, especially Allister’s children, and urged the community to offer support through love, kindness, and respect for privacy.

The motive behind the murder-suicide is yet to be fully understood, and investigations by law enforcement are likely to delve into the circumstances leading to this devastating event.
